Story HereNORTH ATTLEBORO - If the Norton High wrestling Lancers are the best team in the Tri-Valley League, the Rocketeers of North Attleboro just might be the best team in the Hockomock League, perhaps one of the top five in the Commonwealth.

"They are as good a team as I've seen," remarked Norton High coach Pat Coleman, whose Lancers suffered a 46-18 loss to the Rocketeers Saturday in a quadrangular meet. "They wrestle with poise and
 they wrestle with confidence."

Devin Spratt (120) and Brennan Sankey (285) each won all three matches on pins for the Big Red, while Brady Folan (106), Mike Gould (138), Colin Fiske (160) and Leo Thibeault (220) also won a trio of matches.

"Our kids exceeded my expectations," said North coach Wayne Griffin, whose Rocketeers not only beat the Lancers, but also Johnston, R.I. and Plymouth North to improve to 8-0 overall on the season.
"As a coach, you're always concerned about well-coached teams, which Norton is," added Griffin of the reigning MIAA Division 3 sectional champions. "As we were preparing for this, everything kind of went our way."

North won decisions in each of the first four matches, the contest starting at 152 pounds with Nick Gould taking a major decision. The Big Red then seized the momentum when Fiske, a senior, (at 160 pounds) overcame a 5-0 deficit in his match with Norton's Anthony Cardone and went on to take a 6-5 decision.
"Collin settled in and then turned it on during the third period," said Griffin. "That started the momentum in our favor."

The Big Red then surged with a first-period pin Sankey (61 seconds at 285), while Spratt came through with a pin just 45 seconds into his contest at 120.

Devin Schuko (145), Aidan Kahn (132), Lucas Lavallee (195) and Jake Burgess (182) all won three matches for the Lancers. Schuko took a pin and two technical falls, while two of Lavallee and Burgess' wins came on pins. Zach Scarpetti (152) and Cardone (160) both had two wins for the Lancers by pins.
"That was a good test for us, that was a roadmap for our future success, to see what we have to do," added Coleman of his Lancers. "We're still head and shoulders above a lot of teams, but from what I saw from North Attleboro, they are already in mid-season form."

The Rocketeers host Oliver Ames Tuesday in a Hockomock League match, while Norton will host Algonquin Regional on Wednesday in a non-league contest.
