NORTH ATTLEBORO - The North Attleboro High wrestling team is making some early noise this season on the mat.
"North opened up with a bang," said Rocketeers head coach Wayne Griffin after watching his team sweep all three of their matches in a quad meet they hosted Saturday to improve to 4-0 on the season.
The Rocketeers dominated again, shutting out Dighton-Rehoboth, 72-0, and East Greenwich (R.I.), 67-0, and drubbing Pathfinder Tech, 48-6.
Seniors Jack Donahue and Colin Fiske were the focal point for the Rocketeers. Donahue went 3-0 at 170 pounds with two pins while Fiske pinned all three of his opponents at 160.
North went 32-1 in its 33 matches on the day to give Griffin plenty to smile about.
"It was a great opening weekend," said Griffin. "We are a senior heavy team and are pleased with the results so far."
Other top wrestlers for North Attleboro in the meet were Brady Folan, 3-0 with three pins at 106 pounds, Nick Gould with a trio of pins at 152, and. Jordan Tillinghast with three pins at 145 pound.
Alex Devito, Mike Gould, Abhishak Ram, Leo Thibeault and Brennan Sankey all added to the cause by going 2-0 with two pins apiece.
The Rocketeers will be back on the mats Wednesday when they travel to Milford High.
