NORTH ATTLEBORO - Not a bad Saturday for the North Attleboro High wrestling team.

Within a matter of hours, and barely breaking a sweat, the Red Rocketeers added four more wins to their already impressive resume, sweeping a super-quad with LaSalle Academy (51-23), Taunton (67-6), Carver (18-3) and Algonquin Regional (54-16).

The Rocketeers went 44-9 in individual matches and saw their season's record go from 11-0 to 15-0 in the process.

"It was a long day, but a rewarding day," said North coach Wayne Griffin. "To just be able to watch these kids and the improvements they make from match to match, it's really something else. I'm extremely proud of all of them."

Leading the way for North Attleboro was 120-pounder Shane LeBlanc, who went 4-0 with pins in all four of his bouts. He finished the day with his 116th career victory, putting him just three more away from tying the North all-time mark of 119, held by Vinny Sharma. "He's just three away. I'm happy for him because of all of the time and effort he puts in," added Griffin, whose program is on the verge of a milestone as well, just three more wins away from 300 victories.

Joining LeBlanc in going 4-0 with four pins was 145-pounded Dan Kummer, who, according to Griffin, is following in LeBlanc's footsteps.

"He's improved dramatically since the start of the season. His technique has improved and he's anticipating moves two, three seconds before they happen, and he's only a sophomore," said Griffin. "He's doing all the right things."

Kummer's drill-mate, Austin Renzi, was just as impressive Saturday as he went undefeated (4-0) with three pins. John David, at 132 pounds, was 4-0 with three pins and Evan Packart was 4-0 with two pins. Mike Anderson, at 220 pounds, was undefeated on the day, going 3-0 with a pin, while Steve Hathaway (106 pounds), Tom Eustis (160), Bobby Deveau (195) and Ben Alegria (heavyweight) all had two pins and three overall victories.

North Attleboro is back in action Wednesday against Hockomock League foe Stoughton.
