Rocketeers take Sectional title
HANSON - It was dominance per usual for the North Attleboro High wrestling team, winning the MIAA Division 2 South Sectional Meet at Whitman-Hanson high school with 2701/2 points, securing a top seed in the state dual meet tournament. Saturday was about the individual accomplishments, as Shane LeBlanc (120 pounds) and John David (132) walked away sectional champions

In all 13 Red Rocketeers qualified for the Division 2 State Tournament, a nice accomplishment in a season of nice accomplishments. "That's pretty cool," admitted coach Wayne Griffin.

LeBlanc cruised to the championship at the 120-pound weight class, meeting little resistance along the way and also setting a new school record for career pins with 83. "If there was a speedbump, he moved it out of the way," said Griffin.

David was similarly dominant in winning the championship. Griffin was also happy to see Andrew McLaughlin (126) earn second place and advance to states. Weeks earlier, he was sitting on the bench due to an injury sustained during practice, but he was back to 100 percent in the tournament.

"I'm thrilled to death for Andrew," said the coach. "He's a competitor."
